Accreditation requirements

As an independent accreditation company, we follow a rigorous and objective process to evaluate and accredit courses submitted by our clients. Our accreditation requirements are designed to ensure that the courses meet the highest standards of quality, relevance, and effectiveness.

The requirements for a course to be accredited can vary depending on the type and level of the course, as well as the accreditation criteria and standards that apply to the specific industry or field of study. However, in general, some of the key requirements that must be met include:

  1. Course content: The course content must be relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with the intended learning outcomes and objectives. It must also be consistent with industry standards and best practices, and reflect current trends in the field.
  2. Course design and delivery: The course must be designed and delivered in a way that supports effective learning and engagement by students. This may include using appropriate teaching methods, materials, and resources, as well as providing opportunities for interaction, feedback, and assessment.
  3. Assessment methods: The course must use assessment methods that are valid, reliable, and aligned with the learning outcomes and objectives. The methods must also provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and receive constructive feedback on their performance.
  4. Quality assurance: The course must have appropriate quality assurance mechanisms in place to ensure that it meets the required standards of quality and relevance. This may include regular course reviews and evaluations, as well as ongoing professional development and training for course instructors and staff.
  5. Student support: The course must provide adequate support and guidance to students, including access to resources, advice, and assistance when needed. This may include providing support for students with disabilities, as well as ensuring that students are treated fairly and without discrimination.
  6. Tutor qualifications: Your course tutors must be qualified and sufficiently experienced to teach the subject matter contained within the course, and must hold a relevant teaching award or qualification, and valid insurance showing that they are covered to teach.
  7. Compliance: The course must comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  8. Course accreditation timeframe: IATS will process each accreditation request as quickly as possible. At peak times, processing may take up to 14 days.
